The slice Difference

Slice Sports is built for control, not access. We originate proprietary deals directly from owners, leagues, and rights holders, then partner actively with portfolio assets to drive execution and long-term enterprise value.

Our model combines institutional capital discipline with hands-on operating leadership — allowing us to underwrite what’s owned, not just what’s broadcast, and scale value beyond game-day economics.

Our Team

Slice is led by experienced operators with backgrounds across global sports, capital markets, media, and technology. Our leadership brings direct sector access, executional experience, and the governance capability required to operate complex, high-growth sports assets.

Tricia Vanderslice is the Founder, CEO, and Managing Partner of Slice Sports, an operator-led investment platform focused on acquiring and scaling sports ecosystem assets across professional teams, media, youth infrastructure, and venue development. She brings approximately 18 years of experience across global sports operations, commercialization, and institutional capital markets, driving innovation, scale, and monetization across brands, live events, media productions, and digital platforms. Tricia was part of the executive team that scaled ETF Managers Group from approximately $500K to over $4B in assets under management across 14 NYSE-listed ETFs, leading platform positioning, strategic partnerships, investor communications, and marketing distribution strategy during the firm’s growth phase. Previously, she held founding global media and production leadership roles at IRONMAN, building international media, Emmy-nominated productions, and broadcast infrastructure across more than 140 global events. She also served in senior marketing and commercialization leadership at USA Swimming during the Rio Olympic cycle. Her broader experience across consumer brands, media, IP, technology, live events, and institutional capital markets complements her sports operating background and provides the foundation for Slice's proprietary ecosystem investment and operating framework. At Slice Sports, Tricia developed the platform's proprietary ecosystem investment and operating framework to identify, assess, acquire, and scale integrated sports ecosystems. She leads platform strategy, proprietary deal origination, league and ownership engagement, institutional capital formation, and active value creation across the platform.

Russell Atta-Safoh is the Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of Slice Sports, an operator-led investment platform acquiring and scaling sports ecosystem assets. He brings more than 20 years of experience across professional sports, institutional capital markets, structured finance, and corporate advisory. Russell served as Managing Director at Zone Capital Partners, where he originated and structured approximately $200 million in transactions spanning private equity, private credit, SPACs, and growth financings for founder-led, small to mid-cap size companies. Prior to Zone he conducted investment analysis, valuation, and due diligence for a boutique private equity firm, supporting investment committee decisions and capital deployment. Earlier in his career at Fannie Mae, he managed approximately $1.2 billion in annual bond purchases, structured municipal debt transactions, and performed investment analysis across bond portfolios exceeding $9 billion. Prior to his capital markets career, Russell began in professional sports with the Washington Commanders, supporting revenue strategy, stadium operations, and financial analysis before serving in senior financial leadership with the Federal Aviation Administration, where he directed large-scale budgeting, financial systems modernization, and operational planning across nationally managed programs. At Slice Sports, Russell leads the firm's financial strategy, capital structuring, financial operations, and institutional finance initiatives, supporting transaction execution, investment analysis, and long-term value creation across the platform.

Wilson Kello is the Chief Marketing Officer at Slice Sports, bringing over two decades of experience across capital markets, alternative assets, and brand strategy. His background spans public and private investment platforms, growth-stage businesses, and strategic communications at the intersection of finance and consumer markets. At Slice, Wilson leads brand, communications, and market positioning, supporting proprietary deal origination, partnerships, and portfolio value creation. His work focuses on building institutional-grade narratives for emerging asset classes, with a particular emphasis on women’s and youth sports platforms. Wilson is a magna cum laude graduate of Swarthmore College.

Our Value Creation Engine

Slice underwrites sports assets as enterprises, not just teams or media properties.

We focus on owned value — brand, IP, data, platforms, communities, and infrastructure — rather than relying solely on media rights or game-day revenue.

Media and broadcast income are rented yield. Durable returns are created through owned assets that scale off-season, across platforms, and across audiences.
